Soni Moon

Counseling Center Director—Soni Moon MS, LPC
Soni Moon holds a master’s degree (MS) in counseling from Northwest Nazarene University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Idaho. She has been with Refuge Counseling Center since its founding offering services to individuals, couples, children/adolescents, and families. Soni is experienced in working with those suffering from a myriad of issues such as depression, anxiety, addictions, and relational distress. In addition, she specializes in working with women’s issues, parenting issues and eating disorders. Please call or e-mail if you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment.

Dori Halbert

 
Clinical Supervisor—Dori Halbert M.ed, LCPC

Dori holds a Master’s degree from Northwest Nazarene University and is an ordained minister. She has been a practicing counselor for 5 years and has been in professional ministry with her husband for 23 years. Dori provides counseling services to couples in ministry and works with depression, anxiety, trauma recovery and women’s concerns. Dori has been married to Jim for 25 years and together they have three children.
 

Mitch Smith

Mitch Smith MS, LPC
Mitch received his master's degree in counseling from Northwest Nazarene University and is a Liscensed Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho. Originally from western Washington, Mitch and his wife have lived in Nampa for the past 3 years. As well as being a counselor, Mitch has worked with at risk youth in the Treasure Valley.  Mitch is experienced in working with families, couples, and individuals with special interests in helping people overcome struggles with pornography, sexual addictions, grief and loss, relational issues and spiritual issues. Matt Boyd

Matt Boyd, Clinical Intern
Matt is a Counselor Education Student pursing his MS in Marriage and Family Therapy. He has a Masters degree in Inter-Cultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Matt has spent many years living outside of the United States working with Churches, individuals, and College Students.Matt lives in Nampa and is a member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene. His counseling interests include couples, individuals, and families. Matt has five years experience working with at risk youth and their families.

The goal of counseling is to empower each person with the tools needed to have healthy relationships and meet personal goals. Counseling is one of the ways we provide refuge, as people journey toward wholeness.
